Supporting The Next Generation
Investing in future professionals has long been an important part of Friends & Advocates' commitment to community development. For the past 37 years, our student placement program has provided meaningful learning opportunities for students seeking practical experience in the social services and non-profit sectors. Through supervised placements, students have been able to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings, develop professional skills, and gain valuable insight into supporting individuals and families in our community.
In addition, Friends & Advocates has proudly participated in the Federal Government's Canada Summer Jobs Program for the past 28 years. This program has enabled us to provide paid summer employment opportunities to students, helping them gain workplace experience, build confidence, and develop skills that support their future career goals.
These longstanding partnerships reflect our commitment to fostering learning, mentorship, and workforce development. We are grateful for the contributions students make to our organization each year and take pride in helping shape the next generation of professionals and community leaders.
